When an object with specific weight ¥ão, length L (m), width W (m), and height H (m) floats on a liquid with specific weight ¥ã, a load of weight Wt (tf) is placed on the object.

Since the sum of the weight Wo (tf) of the object and the weight Wt (tf) of the load is equal to the weight Wl (tf) of the liquid corresponding to the volume of the object submerged, the submerged depth d (m) can be obtained as follows.

Wo + Wt = Wl

¥ão*L*W*H + Wt = ¥ã*L*W*d

d = (¥ão*L*W*H + Wt)/(¥ã*L*W)
