When an electric water heater with power P (W) is used for m (min) to raise the temperature of water W (g) by dT (¡É), the efficiency ¥ç (%) of the electric water heater can be obtained as follows.

If the specific heat of water is CW (cal/g¡É), the heat received by water Wc (cal) is as follows.

Wc = CW*W*dT

The amount of heat EJ (J) generated by the electric water heater is

EJ = 60*m*P

and it can be converted to cal, using 1 J = 0.24 cal.

Ec = 0.24*60*m*P

Expressing 0.24 as the constant JC,

Since (¥ç/100)Ec = Wc,

¥ç = 100*Wc/Ec = 100*CW*W*dT/(JC*60*m*P)

¥ç = 100*CW*W*dT/(JC*60*m*P)
