When the concentrated load P (kN) is applied on a simple beam of length L (m) as shown in the figure, the deflection of the beam vx (mm) is obtained as follows.

Unit applied in calculation is as follows.

L : length of beam (m)
P : concentrated load (kN)
Lp : distance from A to the point load applied (m)
x : distance from A to the point x (m)
E : modulus of elasticity of beam (MPa)
I : second moment of beam cross section (cm^4)
