Find the cross-section secondary moment to the x1-x1 axis for the hollow circular cross section as shown.

The cross-sectional secondary moments to the x-x centroid axis are as follows.

Ix = (¥ð/64)(D^4 - d^4)

Since the cross sectioal area A = (¥ð/4)(D^2 - d^2),

Ix1 = Ix + A*y^2
      = (¥ð/64)(D^4 - d^4) + (¥ð/4)(D^2 - d^2)*y^2
