Cantilever beam, moment calculation of points, trapezoidal distribution load

When the trapezoidal distribution load acts on the cantilever beam as shown in the figure, find the moment M at the point.

It can be calculated by dividing the trapezoidal distribution load by the lower rectangular distribution load and the upper triangular distribution load.

If P1 ¡Â P2,
 
M = P1 * L * (L / 2) + (P2-P1) * L / 2 * (2/3) * L = (1/6) (P1 + 2P2) * L ^ 2

If P1 ¡Ã P2,

M = P2 * L * (L / 2) + (P1-P2) * L / 2 * (1/3) * L = (1/6) (P1 + 2P2) * L ^ 2

In both cases the formulas are the same, so both can be used.
