길이 L (m) 인 단순보의 지점 A 로 부터 x (m) 만큼 떨어진 위치에 집중하중 P (kN) 이 작용할 때, 지점 A 의 반력의 크기 RA (kN)는 다음과 같다.

∑MB = 0

RA*L - P*(L-x) = 0

RA = P(L-x)/L

집중하중 P1, P2, P3, P4 가 각각 x1, x2, x3, x4 위치에 작용한다면, 반력 RA 는

RA = (1/L)*(P1*(L-x1)+P2*(L-x2)+P3*(L-x3)+P4*(L-x4))

가 된다.
