1 mole nitrogen molecules react with 3 moles of hydrogen molecules to make 2 moles of ammonia molecules.

N2 + 3H2 ¡æ 2NH3

When the mass and molecular weight of the nitrogen molecules used in the reaction are MN2 and WN2 respectively and the molecular weight of the hydrogen is WH2, the mass of generated ammonia, MA, can be calculated as follows.

MA = MN2/WN2*2*((1/2)*WN2+(3/2)*WH2)

MA = MN2/WN2*2*((1/2)*WN2+(3/2)*WH2)
