As shown in figure, a rod welded by two materials (Material 1 and Material
2) is subjec to a tension force F. The deformation length of the rod, dL (mm), is calculated as follows:

dL = dL1 + dL2
dL1 = F/A * L1/E1 , dL2 = F/A * L2/E2

With A = ¥ðD^2 / 4, rewriting the above is:

dL = 4*F / (¥ð*D^2)*(L1/E1 + L2/E2)

where,
E1, E2 : elasticity modulus of Material 1 and Material 2 (GPa)

Then,

dL = 4*F/(¥ð*D^2)*(L1/E1 + L2/E2) * 10^(-9) * 10^(3)
