Trashrack Losses

An average approximation of the trashrack loss, ht, can be obtained from the equation

ht = Kkt * Vn^2 / (2g)

Kt = 1.45 - 0.45(An/Ag) - (An/Ag)^2

Kt = trashrack loss coefficient(empirical)
An = net area through the rack bars
Ag = gross area of the racks and supports
Vn = velocity trough the net trashrack area
